ABOUT ME

Amy Leigh was born near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where her family lived while her father served in the US military. She is the author of The Alter Ego of the Universe, a chapbook published by Finishing Line Press. Poems have appeared in Across The Margin, Wildroof, SLANT, Right Hand Pointing, Dream Pop, I-70 Review and elsewhere. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English/Creative Writing from The University of Missouri-Kansas City and attended the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop. Recently, she participated in the AWP Writer to Writer Mentorship Program, Season 21.  When she isn’t writing, you can find her biking or visiting her daughter who is an illustration major at the Kansas City Art Institute. She resides in Missouri with her husband and middle-aged housecat.

She is actively writing with a focus on a first full-length poetry manuscript.  She is open to editing, providing peer critique and public readings.
